PRESS RELEASE
“The first TGA listed Disinfectant proven effective against COVID-19 capable of being produced on-site and on-demand."
30 October 2020 – Melbourne – eWater Systems, Australia's leading sustainable hygiene technology company, announces that their unique Disinfectant, produced by an on-site and on-demand generator, has been TGA listed and proven to be able to kill the pathogens that cause COVID-19.
Evaluated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), Australia's regulatory authority for therapeutic goods, eWater Disinfectant is now also listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) as a hard surface disinfectant effective against Covid-19.
"This listing validates the capabilities of this cost-effective technology, and that effective hygiene does not require the use of expensive and harsh chemicals," says eWater Systems General Manager, John Archer. It also highlights why we refer to our technology as Hygiene that doesn't cost the Earth.”
Because onsite generators produce the Disinfectant using only salt, water, and electricity, packaging and transporting chemicals is eliminated.
Further, no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are released using eWater Disinfectant, protecting indoor air quality.
These two benefits are reasons the technology has been certified by Australian Organics and Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA).
Archer adds that especially now, due to the pandemic, eWater systems are recognized as a 'go-to' solution for hospitals, senior care centres, prisons, and national Défense facilities.
Currently, several high-profile Australian businesses such as David Jones, the International Convention Centre in Sydney, CommBank, Monash Health, Taronga Zoo, and Rockpool Dining Group keep their facilities clean and healthy using eWater systems.
"eWater Systems is also trying to start a ‘movement,’ promoting sustainability and protecting the environment,” adds Archer. This was recently reported as part of their B Corporation commitment.
" We have helped eliminate the use of more than 130 million litres of chemicals and an estimated 30 million single-use plastic containers. We expect this movement to grow significantly in the years ahead."
